# Grades

The **Grades** tab is the academic summary in Awards — how many lessons you’ve finished and how accurately you’re answering, rolled up across every completed quiz.

<a id="accessing-grades"></a>

## Accessing Grades

1. Click **Awards** in the top navigation bar.
2. Select the **Grades** tab — it’s the first one shown.

<a id="what-youll-see"></a>

## What You’ll See

- Three headline cards: **Lessons Completed**, **Accuracy**, and **Questions Answered**.
- A searchable, date-filterable table of every completed lesson: lesson name, date, time spent, number of attempts, accuracy, trophy earned, and a mastery icon. Click a row to open that lesson’s grade detail.

<a id="how-its-calculated"></a>

## How It’s Calculated

The three headline cards are a pre-computed summary for you as a student:

```
Lessons Completed  = total completed lessonsAccuracy           = your average accuracy across all completed quizzesQuestions Answered = total questions answered across all completed quizzes
```

Each row in the lesson table is grouped by lesson and calculated from every completed attempt on it:

```
accuracy = average(accuracy across completed attempts)           falls back to (correct points ÷ total points) × 100 if an attempt has no stored accuracytime     = sum(time taken across completed attempts)attempts = count(completed attempts)
```

<a id="mastery-label"></a>

## Mastery Label

Each lesson row also carries a **mastery label**, bucketed from that lesson’s average accuracy:

| Average accuracy | Mastery label |
| --- | --- |
| 100% | Expert |
| ≥ 85% | Proficient |
| ≥ 70% | Competent |
| Below 70% | Beginner |

> **Note**
>
> This is a different scale from the mastery icons shown on individual lesson tiles in [Courses & Pathways](https://ilmiya.com/docs/campus/learning/courses-and-pathways/) (Excellence, Mastered, Competent, Proficient, Familiar, In Progress) — those apply per attempt with their own thresholds. The Grades tab’s mastery label is a simpler 4-band average, used only in this summary table.

> **Tip**
>
> Use Grades alongside [Activity](https://ilmiya.com/docs/campus/awards/activity/) — if your accuracy is dipping, check for gaps in your activity, then head back to [Learn](https://ilmiya.com/docs/campus/learning/) to retry the lessons that need it.

For a question-by-question breakdown of a single lesson, open its [Lesson Report](https://ilmiya.com/docs/campus/learning/lesson-report/). For the exact source and formula behind every number on this tab, see the [Metrics Reference](https://ilmiya.com/docs/campus/awards/metrics-reference/).
