# Courses & Pathways

When you open **Learn**, you land on the **Courses** page — a list of course groupings your teacher has made available to you.

> **Note**
>
> Internally these groupings are called “Outlines” (you may notice `/pathway` in the page URL), but that wording never appears on screen — you’ll just see a list of cards or rows.

<a id="browsing-your-content"></a>

## Browsing Your Content

1. Click **Learn** in the Apps switcher.
2. Your available outlines are displayed as cards or in a list view.
3. Use the **search bar** to find one by name.
4. In list view, click a column header to sort by name — there’s no separate sort menu or filter panel.
5. Toggle between **grid view** and **list view** using the view switcher.

> **Note**
>
> There’s no way to browse a flat list of individual courses on their own — you always open an outline first to see the courses inside it.

## About Pathways

What the app internally calls an **Outline** is what you’d think of as a “Pathway” — a structured, ordered grouping of multiple courses working toward a broader learning goal, rather than a single standalone course.

- You reach one by clicking any card on the Courses tab — the app doesn’t use the word “Pathway” on screen, but you’ll notice it in the address bar as `/pathway`.
- Opening a pathway shows its courses in a fixed order — this order is set by your teacher/administrator and reflects how the material is meant to be worked through.
- There’s no separate “browse all pathways” vs. “browse all courses” toggle — the Courses tab is the pathway list; there’s no way to skip straight to an individual course without going through its pathway first.
- A pathway itself doesn’t carry its own grade/progress summary distinct from its courses — progress is tracked per lesson (see Status Icons below), not at the pathway level.

> **Tip**
>
> Since pathways are ordered by design, working through the first course before jumping to later ones will generally match how your teacher intended the material to build up.

## Opening an Outline

1. Click on an outline card to open it.
2. You’ll see the courses that make it up, listed in order.
3. Click into a course to see its structure — divided into **sections** and **subsections**.
4. Click a section to expand it and see the individual lessons inside.
5. Click a lesson to launch the [Lesson Player](https://ilmiya.com/docs/campus/learning/lesson-player/).

> **Tip**
>
> Outlines are designed to be completed in order. Start from the first course and work your way through for the best learning experience.

<a id="tracking-your-progress"></a>

## Tracking Your Progress

As you complete lessons, your progress is saved automatically. Completed lessons are marked so you can see where you left off at a glance.

Clicking a lesson tile (without launching the player) opens a **Grade / Rank / Attempt** view for that lesson. The same grade and mastery data is also available under **Awards → Grades** — both places show the same underlying information.

<a id="what-youll-see"></a>

### What You’ll See

**Grade tab**

| Metric | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Grade** | A letter grade (A+/B+/B/C) derived from your mastery level |
| **Accuracy** | The percentage of questions you answered correctly |
| **Time spent** | Total time invested in the lesson |
| **Mastery** | Your mastery label (Expert / Proficient / Competent / Beginner) |
| **Points** | Points earned from this lesson |
| **Trophy** | Trophy tier earned, if any |

**Attempt tab**

| Column | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Attempt** | The attempt number |
| **Date** | When that attempt happened |
| **Time Spent** | Time taken for that attempt |
| **Question** | Number of questions in the attempt |
| **Correct** | Number answered correctly |
| **Incorrect** | Number answered incorrectly |
| **Percentage** | Accuracy for that attempt |

<a id="mastery-graph"></a>

### Mastery Graph

Under **Awards**, the Mastery Graph shows a bar for each of four mastery tiers — Beginner, Competent, Proficient, Expert — with each bar’s height representing the percentage of your learning days that fell into that tier. It’s a distribution of your overall performance across tiers, not a timeline of individual attempts.

<a id="attempt-history"></a>

### Attempt History

Click on any lesson to see its attempt history, broken down by:

- Each individual attempt with its score and date
- How your accuracy changed between attempts
- Time taken per attempt

Every retake is recorded as a new attempt — a new quiz-result record is created each time you start the lesson. Attempts are counted but currently never limited; there’s no maximum-retake cap.

<a id="grading"></a>

### Grading

Campus doesn’t use letter grades or GPA in the traditional sense. Instead, your overall “grade” is the average of your per-day accuracy figures, plus a pass/fail flag on each quiz:

```
grade  = average( accuracy of all quiz-days )pass?  = correct ÷ attempted  >  80%   → PASSED, else FAILED
```

<a id="status"></a>

### Status

Each lesson also carries a status, based on whether a quiz result exists and how many questions have been answered:

| Status | When it applies |
| --- | --- |
| **Not Started** | No quiz result exists yet |
| **In Progress** | Some questions have been answered |
| **Completed** | Questions attempted have reached the total |

<a id="status-icons--as-they-appear-in-campus"></a>

### Status Icons — As They Appear in Campus

These are the actual icons rendered on the lesson tiles, in the exact colors you’ll see. A crown/mastery icon only appears once a lesson is **Completed**; before that it’s only ever gray (Not Started) or blue (In Progress). Tiers are checked from highest to lowest, with Excellence checked ahead of the accuracy bands.

| Icon | Status / Tier | Color | Icon file | When it shows |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| crown | **Not Started** | Gray `#EAEAEA` | `crown-gray.svg` | No quiz results yet |
| crown | **In Progress** | Blue `#6B87FF` | `master-4.svg` | Started but not completed (any answer attempted) |
| crown | **Excellence** | Purple `#B56AFF` | `mastery-1.svg` | Completed, 0 mistakes and an average under 7 seconds per question |
| crown | **Mastered** | Green `#22C55E` | `crown-green.svg` | Completed, accuracy ≥ 100% |
| crown | **Competent** | Yellow `#FFDD21` | `crown-yellow.svg` | Completed, accuracy ≥ 90% |
| crown | **Proficient** | Orange `#FFAA08` | `mastery-2.svg` | Completed, accuracy ≥ 70% |
| crown | **Familiar** | Red `#FF5750` | `mastery-3.svg` | Completed, accuracy below 70% (down to 0%) |

> **Note**
>
> Excellence is checked first — a flawless, fast run gets its own tier ahead of the accuracy bands below it. Unlike an in-progress lesson, a completed lesson never falls back to the blue icon, no matter how low its accuracy is — even a completed lesson at very low accuracy still shows the red “Familiar” icon.

> **Note**
>
> If a course or outline is no longer visible, your teacher may have unpublished it or removed your enrollment. Reach out to them for clarification.
