# Home

The Console **Home** page is the first screen shown after entering an organization. It has four parts: a welcome header, four overview metric cards, two activity charts, and a Quick Access shortcut grid.

> Home does not include a leaderboard, a class-activity (“Results”) panel, or an audit-log feed. For the full audit trail, see [Logs](https://ilmiya.com/docs/console/logs/).

## Header

| Element | Behavior |
| --- | --- |
| **Greeting** | “Welcome {your display name} 👋” |
| **Organization name** | Shows the active organization’s name |
| **Refresh (↻)** | Manually refreshes the page’s data — see [Refresh behavior](https://ilmiya.com/docs/console/home/#refresh-behavior) below |

## Overview Cards

One row of 4 cards. All 4 respect the class selector — either the request is automatically scoped to the selected class, or the result is filtered client-side to it (unless “organization mode” is active):

| Metric | What it shows |
| --- | --- |
| **Total Student** | Total students enrolled in the selected class |
| **Total Family** | Total families linked to the selected class |
| **Total Guardians** | Total guardians linked to the selected class |
| **Active Students** | Students currently online, from a live feed — not a page-load snapshot |

While this data is loading, each card shows a skeleton placeholder.

## Activity Charts

### User activity over time

> **Note**
>
> This is a **live snapshot**, not a historical trend. It shows how many students are currently online, away, and offline, animated as a short ramp-up to the current numbers rather than a plot of activity across days or weeks.

-   Tracks three states: **online**, **away**, and **offline**
-   Updates in real time and is class-scoped when a class is selected, organization-wide otherwise
-   Shows “No data found” if there are no enrolled students

### Average engagement

This chart does show real historical data, for the current week:

-   **Average active users per day** — average engagement time, e.g. “2h 15m”
-   **Engaged sessions per active user** — average number of sessions per active user
-   A line chart of daily engagement time for the week, labeled by date (e.g. “14 Aug”)

## Quick Access

A grid of shortcut cards that open in a new tab. Each link carries your selected class along with it, unless “organization mode” is active:

| **Streams** | Analytics app → streams |
| **Leaderboards** | Analytics app → ranks |
| **Grades** | Analytics app → grade |
| **Assignments** | Studio app → assignment |
| **Catalog** | Studio app → catalog |
| **Guardians** | People app → guardians |
| **Families** | People app → family |

A **View All Products** link next to the Quick Access heading opens the full product/app switcher.

## Refresh Behavior

Clicking **↻** does three things, in order:

1.  Refreshes your organization’s data on the backend
2.  Re-fetches the overview cards and charts
3.  Reconnects the live connection used for online-student tracking

A spinner replaces the icon while this runs.

## Who Can See Home

Home has no role-based visibility — every card, chart, and shortcut renders the same for every member of your organization, regardless of role.
