# Rewards

The **Rewards** tab shows behavior-based reward points that teachers assign to students. These are separate from academic points — they reflect conduct, effort, and participation as observed by the teacher.

<a id="accessing-rewards"></a>

## Accessing Rewards

1. Open any student from the dashboard.
2. Click the **Rewards** tab.

<a id="two-types-of-rewards"></a>

## Two Types of Rewards

| Type | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Positive** | Points awarded for good behavior, effort, helpfulness, or achievement |
| **Negative** | Points deducted for behavior that needs improvement |

## What the Rewards Tab Shows

<a id="summary-cards"></a>

### Summary Cards

At the top of the tab, two summary cards display:

- **Total Positive Points** — Sum of all positive behavior points received
- **Total Negative Points** — Sum of all negative behavior points (shown as an absolute value)

<a id="reward-transaction-list"></a>

### Reward Transaction List

Below the summary, a detailed list shows every individual reward:

| Column | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Reward name** | The specific behavior or reason for the award |
| **Points** | The point value (positive or negative) |
| **Rewarded By** | The teacher who gave it |
| **Date** | When the reward was assigned |

The list is sorted most recent first and supports pagination for long histories.

## Understanding Reward Points

Reward points are assigned manually by teachers — they are a direct reflection of the teacher’s observations of your child’s behavior and participation in class.

- **High positive points** — Your child is engaging well, showing good effort, and contributing positively
- **Negative points present** — There may be specific behaviors your teacher wants to address

> **Tip**
>
> If you see negative rewards and want to understand the context, use the reward name as a starting point for a conversation with your child’s teacher.

> **Note**
>
> Behavior rewards are entirely teacher-managed. As a parent, you can view them but cannot add or remove reward entries. Reach out to the teacher directly if you have questions about a specific reward.
