# Getting Started with Portal

Portal has its own dedicated login separate from the student Campus app. This section walks you through signing in and understanding the access requirements.

## Before You Begin

To access Portal you need:

-   A **Parent** or **Guardian** account created by your organization’s administrator
-   Your login credentials (email/username and password)
-   At least one student assigned to your account by the administrator

> **Note**
>
> Portal accounts are separate from student accounts. Your child’s Campus login will not work in Portal. If you don’t have a parent/guardian account, contact your school or organization’s administrator.

## Logging In

1.  Navigate to your organization’s Portal URL (provided by your administrator).
2.  Enter your **email or username** and **password**.
3.  Click **Login**.
4.  You’ll land on the Portal dashboard showing your assigned students.

## Role Requirement

Portal is exclusively for **Parent** and **Guardian** roles. If you sign in with an account that has a different role (student, teacher, admin), you will be automatically redirected to Campus.

> **Tip**
>
> If you’re redirected away from Portal after signing in, your account may not have the parent/guardian role assigned. Contact your administrator to verify and update your role.

## Forgot Password

If you’ve forgotten your password, contact your organization’s administrator to reset it — the **Forgot password?** link on the login page only shows “Contact your administrator for support.”
