# Navigating Portal

Portal has a straightforward layout built around your student list. Here’s a quick map of every area.

## Top Navigation

The top navigation bar is present on every page and contains:

| Item | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| **Ilmiya logo** | Returns you to the main dashboard |
| **Profile menu** | Access your profile settings and sign out |
| **Breadcrumbs** | Shows your current location and lets you navigate back |

## Dashboard (Home)

The home screen shows all students assigned to your guardian account as cards. This is your starting point for monitoring any student.

## Student Detail View

Clicking a student opens their full detail view — a page with multiple tabs covering every aspect of their learning.

## Breadcrumb Navigation

As you navigate deeper — from dashboard to student detail to grade detail — breadcrumbs appear at the top of the page. Click any breadcrumb item to jump back to that level without using the browser back button.

**Example:**

## Profile & Sign Out

Click your **avatar** in the top-right corner to:

-   Access your [Profile](https://ilmiya.com/docs/portal/profile/) settings
-   **Logout** of Portal
