# Leaderboard

The Leaderboard shows your child’s ranking compared to other students in the same organization or lesson. It gives you a sense of how they’re performing relative to their peers.

## Accessing the Leaderboard

There are two leaderboard views in Portal:

| View | How to access |
| --- | --- |
| **Lesson Leaderboard** | Open a student → Grades tab → Click a lesson → Rank tab |
| **Overall Leaderboard** | Open a student → Leaderboard tab |

<a id="overall-leaderboard"></a>

## Overall Leaderboard

The overall leaderboard ranks all students in the organization by cumulative points.

<a id="top-3-display"></a>

### Top 3 Display

The top three students are displayed prominently at the top with special badges:

- **1st place** — Gold badge
- **2nd place** — Silver badge
- **3rd place** — Bronze badge

<a id="full-leaderboard-table"></a>

### Full Leaderboard Table

Below the top 3, the full table lists all ranked students:

| Column | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Rank** | Position in the leaderboard |
| **Name** | Student name and avatar |
| **Points** | Total points accumulated |
| **Time Spent** | Total learning time |

<a id="finding-your-child"></a>

### Finding Your Child

Use the **Filter** box to find your child’s row.

<a id="sorting-the-leaderboard"></a>

## Sorting the Leaderboard

Click any column header to sort the table:

- Rank (default)
- Name (alphabetical)
- Points (highest or lowest first)
- Time Spent
- Sessions

<a id="searching"></a>

## Searching

Use the search bar above the table to find a specific student by name.

<a id="lesson-leaderboard"></a>

## Lesson Leaderboard

When viewing a specific lesson’s grade detail, the **Rank** tab shows how your child performed in that lesson relative to all other students who also completed it.

This is useful for context — a strong rank on a difficult lesson is worth noting even if the overall accuracy isn’t perfect.

> **Tip**
>
> Leaderboard position fluctuates in real time as other students complete activities. A lower rank today doesn’t mean things are going wrong — consistent daily effort will naturally improve their position over time.
