# Quiz Builder

The **Quiz Builder** is Studio’s editor for creating interactive questions and activities. It opens when you enter a component (topic) and gives you full control over every element inside it.

## Accessing the Quiz Builder

1.  Navigate to a component inside any section and course.
2.  Click the component to open it.
3.  The Quiz Builder view loads — you’ll see any existing elements listed.
4.  Click **\+ Add Element** to insert a new question or activity.

## Quiz Builder Layout

| Area | Description |
| --- | --- |
| **Element list** | All elements in this component, in order |
| **Element editor** | The active element’s content and configuration panel |
| **Type picker** | Select the element type when creating a new element |
| **Preview** | See how the element looks to students |
| **Settings panel** | Points, time, hints, and feedback options |

## Building a Quiz

A typical workflow:

1.  Click **\+ Add Element** — choose a type (e.g. Multiple Choice)
2.  Enter the **question text** or prompt
3.  Add **answer options** and mark the correct one(s)
4.  Set **points value** for the element
5.  Optionally add a **hint** or **feedback messages**
6.  Repeat for each question

## Supported Media in Questions

You can add media to any question prompt or answer option:

-   **Images** — upload or select from Assets
-   **Audio** — upload MP3 or select a reciter clip
-   **Video** — embed a video URL or upload a clip
-   **Text formatting** — bold, italic, and Arabic text support

## Previewing Your Quiz

Use the **Preview** button to see the quiz exactly as students will see it. Preview mode lets you interact with elements without saving any attempt data.

> **Tip**
>
> Preview your quiz after adding all elements — some element types (like drag-and-drop or drawing) behave differently on mobile. Test on both desktop and mobile layouts before assigning.

## Auto-Save

The Quiz Builder auto-saves as you work. You don’t need to click a save button after every change — your edits are saved in real time.

>
> Auto-save applies to content edits. Settings changes (points, time limits) are saved when you click **Save** or move to another element.
