Our Commitment
Ilmiya is a signatory to the Student Privacy Pledge, demonstrating our commitment to responsible stewardship of student personal information in our educational technology services.
Our Promises
We commit to the following principles:
1. Not Sell Student Information
We will not sell student personal information. Student data is not a commodity and will never be traded for commercial benefit.
2. Not Use Data for Behavioral Advertising
We will not use or disclose student information collected through our educational services for behavioral targeting of advertisements to students.
3. Use Data for Educational Purposes Only
We will use student data only for purposes authorized by the educational institution or teacher, or with parental/student consent.
4. Not Change Privacy Policies Without Notice
We will not make material changes to our privacy policies or practices without first providing prominent notice to the account holder and allowing them time to choose to continue use.
5. Not Retain Data Beyond Educational Need
We will enforce strict limits on the retention of student personal information. Data will be deleted when no longer needed for educational purposes.
6. Support Parental Access
We will provide parents with access to the personal information of their student(s) held by Ilmiya and correct errors where applicable.
7. Provide Comprehensive Security Standards
We will maintain a comprehensive security program that is reasonably designed to protect the security, privacy, confidentiality, and integrity of student personal information.
8. Be Transparent About Data Collection
We will be transparent about the student data we collect and how it is used. We will clearly and comprehensively disclose our data policies.
9. Support School Data Governance
We will support access to and correction of student-held data by the authorized school officials.
10. Limit Data Collection
We will collect only the student personal information necessary to provide the educational service.
