About these times
Where the numbers come from
Prayer times are a solar calculation, not a lookup. Given a latitude, a longitude and a date, the sun's position determines sunrise, solar noon and the angles that define Fajr and Isha. This page runs that calculation on your device. It means the timetable is generated into every city page at build time, so the times are readable without JavaScript, and it means the page has no third party it can be taken down by.
Why the method matters
Methods disagree about how far below the horizon the sun must be for Fajr to come in and for Isha to begin, and the disagreement is not small. Across the twelve methods here, Fajr in a mid-latitude city spans close to half an hour. Pick the one your mosque follows. The choice is stored in your browser and applies to every city page you open afterwards.
What this page will not do
It will not ask for your location unless you press the button. It will not send a notification you did not turn on. It will not present an approximation as though it were exact: at high latitudes, where Fajr and Isha have no solar time for part of the year, the page says so on the day rather than printing a number quietly.
