Drawing & Annotation

Canvas includes a freehand drawing layer that sits on top of the Quranic text. You can draw, highlight, and annotate directly on any page — and your drawings are saved automatically and restored every time you return to that page.

  1. Open any Surah or Page in the reading area.
  2. Look for the drawing tools in the bottom toolbar.
  3. Click the brush icon to activate drawing mode.

Clear allRemove all drawings from the current page
  1. Activate drawing mode from the toolbar.
  2. Select your colour and brush size.
  3. Draw directly on the Quranic text — use it to:
    • Underline key words or phrases
    • Circle letters you want to practice
    • Highlight verses you’re memorizing
    • Mark Waqf (stopping) points
    • Add arrows to connect related words
  4. Your drawing is saved automatically as you work.

Drawings are saved to your account automatically — no manual save required. When you return to the same page later, your annotations are restored exactly as you left them.

Drawings are stored per page, per user. Your annotations are private and only visible to you.

  • Use the eraser tool to selectively remove parts of your drawing
  • Use Undo to reverse your most recent strokes
  • Use Clear all to remove every annotation from the current page

Each Mushaf page has its own independent drawing layer. Switch between pages normally — your drawings on each page are saved and loaded separately.
