Settings
Canvas Settings lets you personalize your learning environment. Your preferences are saved to your account and applied automatically every time you open Canvas.
Accessing Settings
Section titled “Accessing Settings”- From the Canvas home screen, click the Settings tab.
- Or access settings from the Settings icon in the top navigation.
Available Settings
Section titled “Available Settings”Arabic Script (Font)
Section titled “Arabic Script (Font)”Choose the Quranic script that feels most familiar to you:

| Uthmanic Hafs | Global standard — used in most printed Qurans worldwide |
| Madani | The Madinah Mushaf script — widely used in the Middle East |
| Indopak | Script used in South Asian Quran teaching traditions |

Font Size
Section titled “Font Size”Adjust the size of the Arabic text across all reading views. Canvas offers 7 size levels — use larger sizes on smaller screens or for more comfortable extended reading.
Default Reciter
Section titled “Default Reciter”Set the reciter whose voice plays when you open any Surah or start the audio player. Choose from 100+ available reciters.
- Click the Default Reciter field.
- Search by name or browse the list.
- Select your preferred reciter.
- Save — this reciter loads automatically on all Surahs.
You can still switch reciters on the fly from the audio player toolbar without changing your default.

Translation Language
Section titled “Translation Language”Select the language for verse translations shown in Translate mode. The available languages depend on your organization’s configuration.
Tajweed Colouring
Section titled “Tajweed Colouring”Toggle Tajweed colour-coding on or off. When enabled, Arabic letters and words are highlighted according to the Tajweed rules that apply to them.
- On — Colours are shown on the text (default)
- Off — Plain Arabic text with no colour highlights
Switch between light and dark display themes:

Saving Settings
Section titled “Saving Settings”Changes to settings are saved automatically as you make them — no save button required. Your preferences sync to your account and apply across all devices.
