Tracking Progress
Canvas tracks your memorization progress at multiple levels — individual verses, full pages, and globally across the entire Quran. This gives you a clear picture of how far you’ve come and what remains.
Levels of Progress Tracking
Section titled “Levels of Progress Tracking”| Level | What it tracks |
|---|---|
| Verse level | Which specific verses you’ve memorized within a Surah |
| Page level | How much of each Mushaf page is memorized |
| Global level | Your overall progress out of the full 604 pages of the Quran |
Verse-Level Progress
Section titled “Verse-Level Progress”Inside the memorization view for any Surah, each verse is shown with a progress state:
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Not started | Verse hasn’t been attempted yet |
| In progress | Verse has been partially memorized — some words marked |
| Memorized | Verse has been fully memorized and confirmed |
Click on any verse to expand it and see which words you’ve marked as memorized vs. still learning.
Marking a Verse as Memorized
Section titled “Marking a Verse as Memorized”- Open a Surah in Memorize mode.
- Work through the verse using the progressive word-reveal.
- Once you can recite the verse from memory, click Mark as Memorized.
- The verse is saved as complete and your progress updates.
You can unmark a verse at any time if you feel you need more practice on it.
Page-Level Progress
Section titled “Page-Level Progress”The page progress view shows each of the 604 Mushaf pages with a completion percentage based on how many of its verses you’ve memorized.
This is useful for:
- Seeing which pages are fully memorized
- Identifying pages that are partially done and need attention
- Planning which pages to work on next
Global Progress
Section titled “Global Progress”The global progress indicator shows your memorization as a fraction and percentage of the full Quran:
Example: 42 / 604 pages memorized (7%)
This top-level number gives you perspective on your overall Hifz (memorization) journey. It updates automatically as you mark verses complete.
Timeline View
Section titled “Timeline View”The memorization timeline gives you a visual schedule of your memorization activity:
- Days you practiced are shown on a calendar
- You can see how much you covered on each day
- Gaps in the timeline highlight where practice was missed
Use the timeline alongside your Statistics heatmap for a complete view of your learning consistency.
Cross-Surah Navigation
Section titled “Cross-Surah Navigation”Memorization mode doesn’t stop at the end of a Surah. When you complete a Surah, Canvas allows you to continue directly into the next one — keeping your momentum going without returning to the menu.
