Messages
The Messages tab shows all message threads that students have sent to you or your organization. Unlike channels (which are group discussions), messages are direct threads between a student and the teacher/admin — used for questions, requests, or personal communication.
Accessing Messages
Section titled “Accessing Messages”- Click Inbox in the Console navigation.
- Select the Messages tab.
What the Messages List Shows
Section titled “What the Messages List Shows”Each message thread is listed with:

| Subject | The topic or subject line of the message |
| Student | The student who initiated the thread |
| Status | Open, Resolved, or Closed |
| Last activity | When the most recent reply was added |
| Reply count | Total number of replies in the thread |
Filtering Messages
Section titled “Filtering Messages”Use the status filter to narrow the list:

| All | Every thread regardless of status |
| Open | Active threads awaiting a response |
| Resolved | Threads marked as resolved |
Use the search bar to find a thread by subject line.
Opening a Message Thread
Section titled “Opening a Message Thread”Click on any thread to open the full conversation — you’ll see the student’s original message and all replies in chronological order.
Replying to a Thread
Section titled “Replying to a Thread”- Open a message thread.
- Scroll to the bottom of the replies.
- Click Add Reply.
- Type your response.
- Click Send.
Your reply is added to the thread and the student is notified automatically.
Managing Thread Status
Section titled “Managing Thread Status”After resolving a student’s query, update the thread status:
- Open the thread.
- Click the status control (top of the thread).
- Change to Resolved or Closed.

| Open | Active — student’s query is pending a response |
| Resolved | Query answered — thread closed successfully |
| Closed | Thread closed without resolution or after resolution |
