Courses & Sections

Once you have a collection, you build the internal structure: Indexes (courses) contain Sections (lessons), which contain Components (topics). This is where the bulk of your content lives.

Courses (Indexes)

A Course (called an Index in Studio) is the second level of the content hierarchy — a defined topic or unit that sits inside a collection.

Creating a Course

1. Open a collection from the Catalog.
2. Click + Add Index or Create Course.
3. Fill in the details:

Field	Description
Title	The course name — e.g. “Tajweed Basics”
Image	A cover image for the course card

4. Save — the course appears inside the collection.

Managing Courses

From inside a collection you can:

• Reorder courses by dragging them into position
• Edit a course’s title, or image
• Duplicate a course to reuse its structure
• Delete a course (this removes all sections and components inside it)

Lessons (Sections)

A Lesson (called a Section in Studio) is the third level — a logical grouping of topics within a course.

Creating a Section

1. Open a course (index).
2. Click + Add Section or Create Lesson.
3. Enter a title for the section — e.g. “Introduction to Makharij”.
4. Save — the section is added to the course.

Managing Sections

• Drag sections to reorder them within the course
• Click a section title to edit it
• Delete a section to remove it and all components inside it

Topics (Components)

A Topic (called a Component in Studio) is the fourth level — the actual activity or quiz unit that students interact with.

Creating a Component

1. Open a section (lesson).
2. Click + Add Component or Create Topic.
3. Enter a title for the component — e.g. “Vocabulary Quiz”.
4. Save — the component is created inside the section.

Component Types

Components are the containers for Elements (questions and activities). Once a component is created, you open it in the Quiz Builder to add individual elements.

Tips for Structuring Content

Tip

Keep sections focused — one lesson per logical teaching unit. Avoid cramming too many topics into a single section, as students see the section title when navigating their assignments.

Tip

Name components descriptively — “Week 3 Vocabulary Quiz” is clearer than “Quiz 1” when you have many components across a course.
