Question Settings
Every element in the Quiz Builder has a Settings panel where you configure how it’s scored, how long students have, and what feedback they receive.
Accessing Settings
Section titled “Accessing Settings”- Open a component in the Quiz Builder.
- Select or create an element.
- The settings panel appears on the right side of the editor (or as a collapsible panel below the element).
Points
Section titled “Points”| Setting | Description |
|---|---|
| Points value | The score awarded for a correct answer — default is 1 |
| Zero on skip | If left unanswered, the element scores 0 (default behaviour) |
Points across all elements in a component are summed to produce the component score.
| Setting | Description |

| Hint text | Optional text shown when the student taps the hint button |
If no hint is set, the hint button is hidden from students.
Answer Feedback
Section titled “Answer Feedback”Configure messages that appear immediately after a student submits an answer:

| Correct feedback | Message shown when the answer is correct — e.g. “Well done!” |
| Incorrect feedback | Message shown when the answer is wrong — e.g. “The correct answer is…” |
| Show correct answer | Toggle whether the correct answer is revealed after submission |
Required
Section titled “Required”Mark an element as Required to prevent the student from skipping it and moving on without answering. By default, elements are not required.
Shuffle Options
Section titled “Shuffle Options”For multiple choice, matching, and ordering elements:

| Shuffle answers | Randomize the order of answer options for each attempt |
| Shuffle questions | (Component-level) Randomize the order elements appear |
Shuffling reduces answer-sharing between students.
Media Settings
Section titled “Media Settings”For audio and video elements:

|---|---|
| Autoplay | Play the media automatically when the element loads |
| Loop | Replay the audio or video on completion |
| Controls | Show or hide playback controls |
| Play limit | Limit how many times the student can play the clip |
Saving Settings
Section titled “Saving Settings”Settings changes are saved when you click Save on the settings panel or when you navigate to another element. A confirmation indicator appears when the save is successful.
