Reciters

Canvas provides access to over 100 professional Quranic reciters across multiple Qira’at (recitation traditions). You can browse all reciters, explore their profiles, and set a default reciter for your sessions.

  1. Click Reciters in the top navigation bar of Canvas.
  2. The full list of available reciters is displayed.

Reciters are listed with their name, nationality, and Qira’at style. You can:

  • Scroll through the full list
  • Search for a reciter by name
  • Filter by Qira’at style or language

Click on any reciter to open their profile page. Each profile includes:

Available SurahsWhich Surahs are available for this reciter

From the profile page you can click directly into a Surah to start listening to that reciter.

Qira’at refers to the different accepted styles of Quranic recitation, each with its own rules of pronunciation and rhythm. Canvas supports multiple Qira’at:

Warsh ‘an Nafi’Common in North and West Africa
Qalun ‘an Nafi’Used in parts of North Africa and the Middle East
Other narrationsAdditional Qira’at available depending on reciter
  1. Go to Settings from the Canvas home screen.
  2. Find the Default Reciter option.
  3. Search for and select your preferred reciter.
  4. Save the setting — this reciter will be used automatically across all Surahs.

You can also switch reciters on the fly using the reciter selector in the audio player toolbar without changing your default setting.
