Elements

Elements are the fifth and final level of Studio’s content hierarchy. They are the individual questions, activities, and interactive items that students actually respond to inside a component.

An element is a single interactive item — a multiple choice question, a fill-in-the-blank, a drawing task, a video clip, or any of the 30+ question types Studio supports.

Every element lives inside a Component (topic). A component can hold as many elements as you need.

  1. Open a component from inside a section.
  2. You’ll enter the Quiz Builder view.
  3. Click + Add Element to insert a new question or activity.
  4. Choose the element type from the type picker.
  5. Configure the element — add content, set the correct answer, adjust settings.
  6. Save — the element is added to the component.

Studio supports 30+ element types across several categories:

→ See Question Settings for the full settings reference.

Drag elements up or down within a component to change their order. Students see elements in the order you set.

Right-click or use the element menu to Duplicate an element. The duplicate is added below the original — useful for reusing a question format with different content.

Use the element menu to Delete an element. Deletion is permanent — there is no undo. If you’re unsure, duplicate it before deleting.
