Setting Goals

Canvas lets you set personal memorization goals to give your practice direction and help you stay on track. Goals can be based on verses, pages, or time — whichever works best for your schedule.

  1. Open Memorize from the top navigation.
  2. Look for the Goal or Settings option in the memorization dashboard.
  3. Choose your goal type and set your target.
  4. Save — your goal is now active and tracked daily.
Goal TypeExample
Verses per dayMemorize 3 new verses every day
Pages per weekComplete 1 page per week
Minutes per daySpend at least 20 minutes on memorization daily

You can set both a daily and a weekly goal at the same time.

Your streak counts the number of consecutive days you’ve met your memorization goal.

  • Complete your daily goal → streak increments by 1
  • Miss a day → streak resets to zero
  • Your longest streak is recorded separately so you can always see your personal best

The streak counter is displayed prominently in the memorization dashboard as a daily motivator.

The memorization dashboard shows:

IndicatorWhat it shows
Today’s progressHow much of today’s goal you’ve completed (e.g. 2 of 3 verses)
Streak counterCurrent consecutive days streak
Weekly overviewA visual timeline of your activity across the current week
Goal completion %Percentage of today’s target completed

You can update your goal at any time from the memorization settings — increase it when you’re ready for more, or reduce it during a busy period to keep your streak alive.

When you hit notable streak milestones — such as 7 days, 30 days, or 100 days — Canvas highlights the achievement. Some milestones may be linked to Awards rewards depending on your organization’s configuration.
